Water Meadows and Old Sarum
I forgot to include these earlier. Old Sarum was the original site of the town, moved to a place with more water. The water meadows are an area developed near the river to be flooded in winter. This protected them from frost and encouraged earlier grass growth in spring. Constable painted here.

Still London
Blown away by the Impressionists exhibition at the National Gallery. How could they not see it? The pictures talk, sing, woo you. I was ravished. The artist Leighton's house was rather a mess, exhibition partially dismantled old arrangement not re established. Arab hall just lovely tho. Famous roof garden just down the road closed compensated by buying chocolates at the whole food market

Exhibition
Rubens and his Legacy today, I have to say that, on the whole, I was unconvinced. Two paintings both with carts does not an influence make. Still lots of lovely paintings and if they were unconnected they were none the worse for it. Also went to Fortnum and Masons, yummy stuff, and some strange things too. Beautiful day.

Also went to St James church, filled with the sound of snores, many folk snoozing on the pews
