We went to Baelo Claudia today a tiny Roman settlement that was into the fish trade. As they are close to the Straits of Gibraltar they were able to harvest tuna twice a year and salt them to trade. When the empire fell apart so did trade and the town slowly died and was buried in the dunes

This is the fish factory

We also passed Gibraltar

Great site position for fishing factory.
Wonder how that white statue was kept in good shape all these years glazing at the sea.
