Arrived in Rome on a filthy night, pitch black, pouring with rain and dropped on the wrong side of Termine at least ten blocks from my destination. Made it to the hotel OK though and have a lovely room that even has tea making facilities. Today Robyn and I went out to the Forum, the Palatine and the Colosseum. The house of Augustus which has just finished being restored was open as was part of the cryptoporticus of Nero. Saw one cat at the colosseum but the rain that was falling in the arvo as we went around prob explains that. Their was an exhibition on at the colosseum which we inspected.
