Dublin

This computor doesn't do pictures so a brief report on the day. Chester Beatty Museum was the first target and after being a little distracted by the Taxation Museum, surprisingly engaging, as i trudged through Dublin Castle which is unconvincing as you will see when I can get a photo up, I browsed there amidst the most amazing collection of manuscripts. Medieval, Egyptian, they had the contending of Horus and Seth on display. The Islamic material was very impressive, I have always loved those Persian illustrations. The cafe there was also surpassingly excellent, its called Silk Road and has recipes on its website they say, must look it up. After that I went to the Protestant and the Catholic Cathedrals. You can guess which is the better supported. The poor C of E Cathedral, although it looks surprisingly new, Victorian renovations at work again, has a forlorn air as it insists it is part of the life of the city. St Patricks makes no such claims, nor does it need to.
